Imo First Lady, Nneoma Okorocha empowers Indigent Women

Described as the first of its kind by everyone present, the indigent of the oil bearing communities of Imo state, otherwise known as ISOPADEC women have been generously uplifted by the wife of the state governor, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha, who last Tuesday, December 18, in an elaborate support initiative empowered 500 women with cash, gifts, and other materials, according to the nature of their various businesses.

Speaking to the crowd of expectant women, guests and others, the First lady expressed her appreciation to the leaders of the ISOPADEC communities.

She described Mrs Peace Nwokotubo who is the wife of the Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Mr Andrew Chidi Nwokotubo as very resourceful, hard working and very passionate about matters concerning ISOPADEC women.

Mrs Okorocha informed them of the understanding between APC and Action Alliance, reminding them that their campaign in the forthcoming general elections would be anchored by the Nneoma Campaign train which she stated, would work for continuity of education, infrastructure, agriculture, etc.

Earlier in his addreess, the MD of ISOPADEC, Mr Andrew Nwokotubo, conveyed the gratitude of his people to the First Lady and the state government for remembering them, describing the visit of Mrs okorocha as aimed to turn things around in the oil communities.

Mrs Peace Chidi informed the governor's wife of their joy to have her in their midst and of all she had done for the ISOPADEC women which was first of its kind. She also congratulated the new ISOPADEC Women Association for their sacrifice in putting smiles on the faces of their follow women.

Rounding up after others had spoken was top leader of the ISOPADEC communities, Engr Kingsley Uju who described the empowerment effort of the day as proof that ISOPADEC was touching lives of people at the grassroots.
